Will my ex-husbands stimulus check be intercepted to pay past due child support?

My ex-husband owes past due child support. I know that his tax refund (if he is entitled to any) is always taken from him to pay down on his past due child support. I was wondering if the same thing would happen with his stimulus check or if that would actually go to him instead. Thanks in advance for your help!

If the process is in place to take any overpayment refund from his federal taxes then, YES, the Economic Stimulus Payment will be taken also.

If he owes more than $500 in back support, then yes they will take both the refund and the rebate. If the refund took care of the back support then they won’t touch the rebate. But if he still owes back support after the refund, then the rebate is gone too.
