2009 Stimulus Check

It was only last Tuesday when President Barack Obama officially signed the stimulus package »”>stimulus package and put it into law. However, there are some economists who voiced their opinions and said that it would take a couple more years before they can see the corollary of the bill. The views are still varied. Some thinks that the bill is unnecessary while others see it as their new hope.

According to Vincent Burke, a professor in political science, he and his class believe that it can be quite difficult to determine what the outcome of the bill that the president just signed will be. He also mentioned that it is not yet certain that the stimulus package will be 100 percent successful. Even though Professor Vincent Burke agreed that the package is necessary, he thinks that the bill does not include a lot of programs that would boost the current state of the country’s economy.

Vincent Burke also believes that the Republican senates did not do a great job in eliminating the unnecessary items from the said package. This is the same view of a management senior named Jimmy Micikas. Micikas said that the stimulus package must not be a single bill but should have been multiple bills instead.

Another problem that Vincent Burke brings up regarding the stimulus package is that the loaning of huge amounts to the private sectors. If the private sectors would pay the loans back, then there will be no problem about it. Otherwise, there will be more than $700 billion that will be a part of the country’s national debt.

On the other hand, Dave Wise, a political science senior thinks that the stimulus package isn’t actually a good thing. However, he said that with the current economic dilemma of America, many Americans feel that this bill is needed.

Apart from those lucky enough to receive a 2009 stimulus check, it will most likely take at least a year or two before Americans get to see and feel the results of the stimulus package.
