What is the positives and negatives of the new stimulus package?

I am doing a response to current events in social studies and am writing about the new stimulus package »”>stimulus package. I am confused on what the democrats and republicans think about the rebates. Please Help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It’s due tomorow!

Negative, we are handing out money that we are borrowing.

The positives is that it may give the economy a slight jump & everyone could use the cash. Say you buy an Ipod from Best Buy. Best Buy and Apple will make profit. Both companies will have stocks that rise, which will make more people feel secure in investing in the stock market so they will invest money into the stock market, which will make the stock market do well so more people will invest and the stock market will continue to rise. Also, Best Buy & Apple will have made that money, allowing them to expand & employ more people. Thats the theory.
The negatives being pointed out is that we have the largest deficeit in the history of the world & that we should be trying to put our money towards that. The Iraq war is literally costing us millions of dollars a day. This is the first time in American history that we have had a war without raising taxes. In fact, Bush lowered taxes. Granted, it may be better not to have high taxes, but it is fiscally irresponsible to start a war without being able to pay for it. And on top of not raising taxes to pay for the war, he’s giving everyone cash back, which is a lot of money, while our debt continues to grow. Hope this may have helped. taking money out that we dont have is never a good thing, but if people think the package is bad, wait till a democrat is elected, obama has a 200 billion dollar agenda and Hillary isn’t far behind
