President Obama’s Stimulus Package – How Will it Affect You?
Friday, December 18, 2009 10:17President Obama’s stimulus package »”>stimulus package calls to America’s attention a two-year stimulus funded plan that is said to revitalize the economy in the most expensive economic package seen in decades. The use of this fiscal policy, or tax measure, is laced with government spending and infrastructure projects that seems to have Republicans scrambling amongst themselves to stronghold the package in its infancy and Democrats waiting patiently for it to be made into law. President Obama has many times talked about his stimulus package plan to America. This stimulus package plan is aimed at creating millions of new jobs, and ultimately spur the economy with a whirlwind of consumer spending. Even with this growth, that will stimulate economic spending, it also comes complete with trillions of dollars of future debt left for America’s next generation to repay.
The passing of this package will mark President Obama’s first win over with Congress and hopefully be head off the worst depression since the 1930’s. This stimulus package plan will fund educational projects and provide billions of tax cuts. President Obama was quoted as saying that this stimulus package will not only increase economic spending and rise the job industry back up, but will also be the essential talisman in keeping the American dream alive and well in our time. This is indeed what the American public is waiting to hear and is waiting for that renewal to come about. The American dream of course is in the renewal of everything that defines the American way of life.
The ironic ideal that a government spending fiscal policy and tax cuts will work together for the good of the economy, is akin to the thinking that these two are like oil and water and will not mix. But, the analogy to this is like the oil and water with its use in a car’s engine. Both are needed to keep the car running smoothly, one for its lubricating values and one for its cooling properties. The question left to ask is, will this stimulus package of President Obama’s give us enough economic gas to make it through the next two-year projected target? Will we find it sputtering in across the finish line, just full of nothing but empty promises, and another last place finish for the American people? No doubt we will soon find out, as America prepares to head into the next phase of President Obama’s stimulus plan.
