Is direct deposit an option for the stimulus check if you used turbo tax?
Wednesday, January 27, 2010 10:17Posted in category 2009 Stimulus Check
I used turbo tax to file my taxes and they said I’d have gotten my stimulus check by now, but it hasn’t been deposited or hasn’t come in the mail. I thought it said direct deposit, but now I’m not sure if I even got to choose check or direct deposit.

The tax software you use is irrelevant, it’s how your refund was paid to you. If it was paid directly to your bank account by the IRS, your stimulus payment will be deposited the same way. If you took a rapid refund loan or had the prep and/or filing fees deducted from your refund you’ll get a check in the mail.
When you filed your return also will affect when you get the rebate payment. Only those returns that were PROCESSED by the IRS by April 15th will be in the first batch of payments

Yes. It doesn’t make a difference what product you used to file your return. The difference is if you filed and asked for direct deposit or not on your return.
If you did DIRECT DEPOSIT
Last two SSN digits: Payments will be transmitted no later than (and received by the end of the day of):
00 through 20 May 2
21 through 75 May 9
76 through 99 May 16
If you didn’t do direct deposit, then paper checks will also go out based on Social Security number. For Social Security numbers ending in 00 through 09, the paper checks will be mailed starting May 9 and will continue through May 16. A similar process will be repeated in the following weeks.
Please allow additional delivery time, perhaps 3 to 5 days, since the paper checks are being sent through the mail.
PAPER CHECK
Last two SSN digits: Payments will be mailed no later than (and received a few days after):
00 through 09 May 16
10 through 18 May 23
19 through 25
May 30
26 through 38 June 6
39 through 51 June 13
52 through 63 June 20
64 through 75 June 27
76 through 87 July 4
88 through 99 July 11
People who file a return after April 15 will receive their economic stimulus payment, but probably later than the schedule shows. A return must be filed by October 15 in order to receive a stimulus payment this year. See the online calculator for an estimate of the amount you will receive.

I heard if you chose direct deposit on your Turbo Tax then the stimulus check should be direct deposit, you should be able to log on to your Turbo Tax stuff and double check to see if you chose to have it direct depostied. Maybe that helps

If you used turbo tax and had the turbo tax fee’s deducted from your refund you will receive a paper check even if you had your federal refund setup to be direct deposited. It sucks! If you read the IRS website you will find this https://sa2.www4.irs.gov/irfof/IRServlet?app=IRACTC if your infomation does not show up, the 2nd option will say the reason your infomation may not be showing is due to having your filing fee’s deducted from refund, etc you will receive a paper check. I learned all this today because we used direct deposit and should have gotten our refund by May 9. I called the IRS and had all this confirmed as well. Good Luck!
