I was under the impression that they are still working out the details BUT the stimulus is in the form of a tax credit of 6.2% of taxable wages in 2009 & 2010, to a maximum each year of $400 for single taxpayers and $800 for married taxpayers filing jointly of course. I believe this isn’t applicable for singles making more than $75,000 and married couples making more than $150,000. There is no check, just a reduction in income tax withheld from your paycheck. Retired folks get a one time $250.

Im wondering about those of us that are currently trying to survive on long-term disability (pending SSDI approval), we are the .00005% of those not receiving any type of benefit from the stimulus package at all. What about it?

So my lazy sister-in-law who had 5 kids by the age of 24, doesn’t work and collects SSI for 2 kids because she says they are “under-developed” (but it’s not her fault, even though she drank and smoked throughout her entire pregnancies) will collect a stimulus check while the rest of us who work hard and take care of our families without help from the government get nothing? Nice. Bad enough she gets 8k back at tax time when she doesn’t work!!! What a great message that sends to todays youth.

I have not received a 2009 stimulus payment. I am self employed. I have read/heard that some are recieving money through their payroll check. How will the stimulus work for me since I don’t receive a payroll check?

I’m still confused of how this is supposed to work. I have a job and haven’t noticed a change in my check yet. Also, my husband has been out of work for about six months now. How will he get his stimulus? Does he get a stimulus? When should I expect a change in my pay check?

Today is June 9, 2009. My husband and I have recieved our regular tax money back from State (California) and Federal, but neither of us has recieved a stimulus check and we file taxes jointly. How much longer do you think it wil be?

I have been working for more than a year and have done my taxes last year as well as this year. I’ve checked my mailbox for all of May to see that there is no check in the mail. It is now June. Does this mean there is no hope for any extra $??

The second part of the 2009 stimulus check is a tax rebate that amounts to $400 if you are single or $800 if you are married over the course of 2009. Starting in April 2009 the government is lowering the taxes withheld from your paychecks to the amount of about about $20/week so that over the course of the year it would amount to $400 (or $800). This is the only 2009 stimulus check that is available to those that are working. The 2009 stimulus check is essentially a $400 check paid over the course of the year” Sorry to burst anyones bubble. It was a disappointment to me. I work full time and go to college full time. College is so expenesive (as most of you know) and there is never any break for a white female from a middle class family (even though my family doesn’t help with one cent). Gotta love the government!

well,today is june 2nd,2009.Got a letter from soc-sec stating i should get my check by the end of may.what they do ? feel sorry for my loser ex-husband brad? and sent it to him?
