Dang, a lot of people complaining about who should get what. Ilm a single mother who works full time with 2 children, oner by the way has autism. I think no matter what happens its not a good idea. The last stimulus check did not help really. People lost jobs, lost homes, and for a time gas had went up.Which made it harder on E V E R Y O N E. None of us are better than anyone else. It seems like to me that E V E R Y O N E is on this sinking ship. T O G E T H E R , so what are W E going to do about it?

Cecelia if you make between 50-100k you are doing well enough that you don’t need help. No one said you where rich. You talk about having kids I have 2 and I only make 30k a year, you must not have had to stuggle to feed your family or pay your bills. If I made that much a year I wouldn’t be selfish enough to think that I should get money over thoses who make under 20k. Typical middle class bs. The stimulus should help those in need, the people who live check to check working 2 jobs barly keeping the head above water. And as a contry we need to come together and help each other out. Shame on you for not thinking about people less forunate than you. Let me guess you call yourself a christan too. Well wwjd.

Who ever thinks that 50,000 a year is alot needs to have a reality check. I make close to fifty and by the time taxes are taken out I make 10,000 less and that does not include my health insurance. I couldn’t get food stamp or even qualify for help from the state when I was a single parent or even qualify for low housing. I couldn’t even get help to go to school. You should not blame the people making 50 to 100k a year because we pay taxes. Just ask yourself this question why should the government give people free ride. You have alot of people on wellfare milking the system. They get free medical, food stamps, schooling and housing, along with childcare, and help paying electric bills while I am busting my ass to keep a roof over me and my familys head. How fair is that? If anyone should not get the stimulus check it should be them. As long as the keep getting free rides nothing will ever change.

1st Bush did start the stimulus package, he was still in office when I got my check…obama is merely extending this failed idea. repubs and dems are all out to lunch on this. they are spending my money, your money and your grandkids money. we will be in debt for generations to come. if they want to give me a stimulus i’ll take it and spend it, but i think it’s stupid. all they are doing is taking tax $ from us and redistributing it back to us. of course it’s not fair…. the ones doing most of the work and paying most of the taxes get much less proportionally to those who do squat in our society. But gov’t is merely the middle man and wasting money in the distribution process. it’s not like they are taking a dollar and then giving a dollar back in stimuls. they are taking a dollar and giving back maybe 40cents. the rest is spent on gov’t waste. a real stimulus would be to cut gov’t jobs in half, dismantle the irs and go to a flat/fair tax.

i agree with cecilia and bob put a cap on who should get the stimulus but bear in mind that just because someone makes 100K-150K dollars a year does not make them rich…..i come from a family of five kids and my parents fell in that bracket and we really did not have the extra money..i had two jobs in high school at the same time so i could buy luxuries for myself. and now i have a family of three kids a husband and bring in 30K a year total and i still feels like the same stuff over again.

ya,the goverment is all about helping the rich get richer. what about the people thats work all their life.i guess if we,ve work that long we can keep on working.

we need to cut back on some of the free assistints programs.most of that is for people who can work but choose not to. I,ve seen handicap people working even missing limbs they have a will to work.we need a large stimulus check just to get caught up.thats hoping the economy gets better.

NG bush did not start the 2009 stimulus process! he practically ruined this entired country left Obama with all kinds of problems! Bush being gone has been the best thing for this country. We need to thank Obama for starting up the stimulus package! He's helping more with these hard times than Bush ever did!!!!!!

If we could do a study to determine what an average monthly mortgage is? (Understanding that all are different) multiply that by three months and this will determine what the stimulus check should be. The cut off would be $5,000 per household. I made $53,000 last year and have four children, not rich by any means!!! There are many factors here which would make this difficult but wouldn’t that stabilize the housing market a bit? At least slow down the foreclosures a few months. I am not a genius by any means, but $250.00 or whatever they are saying is about 10 weeks of gas, right? How does that help the crisis? Just remember this, if the house next to yours goes into foreclosure your property value goes down.

Ok so seriously u think we should get 50Gs? are u serious? how many american do u actually think are gonna pay off debt with their 50gs….maybe the smart ones but that isnt many….that is wasteful government spending….they cant just take extra billions of dollars so that Carlos and Deshawn can pay for beer and smokes for their homies and have more money for weed every wkend that they can spend with their hoes… i bet u dont even make 50Gs a year….c’mon thats just wishful thinking….250G a year is considered wealthy….anyone making less than 250Gs a year should get a (((reasonable))) stimulus check it should go by your income. You can’t give a person who makes 24Gs a year 50Gs to get out of debt when his job and income does not even allow him to get that much into debt. The more our government gives us the more we owe them. I’m not against the stimulus pkg im just against the 50gs….as should anyone with half a brain…just thinking about the crime rate after they get that much money is scary.

That’s right, the stimulus check is our own money. We are just getting it back for ourselves and shouldn’t be spend on bailout auto industries. $1000.00 is not gonna help much, not being greedy but a $50,000 to $100,000.00 will help a lot of people for their home, school and pay off debts. For those who are making $50,000 to $100,000.00 a year per family are not rich people. You know how expensive housing in San Francisco? My rent increase every year but not my salary. I can hardly afford my rent. So think about it, housing is falling and so many foreclosure homes. If these families get $50,000 to $100,000 check it will save their home. The government should do this wisely.
