The only thing I see here that is truth without dispute is the fact that during the primaries Obama made a promise to the American people that they would recieve a stimulus check that was to be superior to the 2008 package. He is a two faced liar who has blown smoke up all our asses on almost every single promise he made! He is under qualified and should be removed immediatley before he does real damage! If anyone can honestly show me one promise that has been carried out and not "SHOT DOWN" ,as he puts it, I will bow before you... But hey, no one can.... Think about it...Research it... I did!

I think they should be giving more, not for the fact that we are all in debt as everyone seems to be saying, but so we can all do our parts in donating to worthy causes...most of my money would be going to The Cancer Society, a college scholarship fund for needy children, and many other things. Yes, I would pay my bills, but I don't have much in the way of debt, a mere $12k is better than most. I've always felt that the government is a little too hard on the middle-class as well as too soft on the lower and high classes. We get taxed so hard that we have to pinch pennies just to be able to buy our daily needs. Also, if they want to stimulate the economy, they could get rid of any gas stations that charge more than $2 per gallon of gas. Take them over and start asking for lower prices. If we are working on being so "green" all the money that we are able to save from gas and taxes should be used to speed up the green process and make those cars that use corn oil for fuel or electricity. Hell, let's make cars that run on a fully renewable source, like salt water or dirt. The thing is no matter what we do, we will mess somthing up one way or other, so let's just make sure we know what we are doing before we do it. Don't promise something you plan not to give, and please for the sake of everyone here just be civil. Mother nature isn't happy with us as it is and we are all gonna get shaken off one day. If we don't treat each other with respect we are gonna end up being miserable and losing any kind of faith or trust in anyone.

Wow, I am completely amazed by all the opinions on this stimulus for 2009. Both by those who want/need it, and those who believe 'people should make their own money and not over spend'. Here are some truths that everyone should think about: Firstly, all that money that has been given, and is going to be given to bail out those large companies and banks, all of that 'bail out' money has come from the American tax payers, and most of that from the middle to lower class. So in essense, we, the American tax payers are the ones bailing out those companies and banks, not the government. The government is just the judge, jury, and executioner of where our money goes to. Secondly, the 'stimulus' money that is slated as a 'credit' towards your/our taxes also comes from us, the tax payers. So to be truthful we would just be getting a small portion credited to our taxes (assuming we owe instead of due a refund). Then there are those of us who filed early. Do we also get that 'stimulus'? I filed my taxes early, and because of this, does that mean I won't even get the credit? (btw, I was due a refund, so shouldn't I, and people like me, get that 'credit' as a check instead?). Here's another thought, if it's our taxpayer dollars that has been bailing out those large companies and banks, then shouldn't it be understood that any debt that we had to any of those entities be considered paid in full for those of us who never owed too much? And something else, my debt has resulted not from my misuse of my money, but from not having any medical insurance and having made emergency trips to the hospital due to sudden onset of high blood pressure that nearly killed me. So, not everyone has gained their debts due to over spending or misuse of their hard earned dollars.

the thing that should have been done, instead of bailing out the big greedy companies, is to give the american taxpayers the money . then they could have paid for their cars and their homes. then the companies could have regrouped from that. no one told these companies to millions dollar jets, just so they could fly more comfortably, and not have to be around us peons. think about it. then the employees could have kept their jobs and unemployment would not have been so bad.

I wish they would make up there mind on if they are accually give out stimulas checks or not I am feed up with false hope of helping society. I am a housewife with a one income family and a 3 year old daughter, and in debt and I know it would really help my family much less alot of americans for a stimulas check . And yes $1000 would help but it is not mere enough to help real familys. Real people need help, we are on a downword spirel to destuction. People who can't pay there bills much less take care of there familys will resort to much more destuctive ways to take care of things. I hope they eventually see what is right. For everyone's sake.

This country has 100,000,000 tax payers... If the government truly wanted to stimulate the country, they would give a $500 check to every tax payer for for 20 months.... this would amount to $10,000 per tax payer, the amount given to the banksters who cause the malaise to begin with. I have been recently laid off by a temp agency, so i can't file for unemployemnt; what the hell does a tax credit do for me right now if i have no income? of course, if i was a woman, i could simply have a baby for some deadbeat and i would get HUD housing and free money... then I would claim the child was disabled to my crack habit and I would get money to support my habit...plus, a stimulus check... this system only works for the extremely wealthy or the poor... how about a drug and criminal background check for everyone that wants HUD housing, SSI or food stamps? I have worked virtually my entire adult life, I am college grad and a combat vet, but I can't get any help whatsoever... How about a stimulus check for those of us who actually work and produce as opposed to bankers and welfare cheats who have caused many of these problems? How about bringing our troops home, paying teachers and considering the causes of crime and dismantling the prison industrial complex?

Where is my stimulus? I work, have no bills except taxes on my house that's paid for--because I have learned to live within my means....and yet I keep seeing everyone else getting bailed out and receiving checks----I'm sick of it--and decided not to continue spending as I used to.......and to "put my money under the mattress" as they instruct you not to....
